3 Favourite gourmet stops to discover
I love Lanaudière, and when I visit, one of my favourite things to do is stock up on local gourmet products and enjoy agritourism, especially during the summer.
As a food lover who likes to plan ahead, I always bring a cooler so I can take my discoveries home with me—or at least whatever is left by the end of the trip.

Here are a few of my favourites.
Simon Turcotte Confiturier
The jams and jellies here are absolutely delicious and especially original in their flavour combinations. Simon also makes excellent gourmet mustards.
His products can be found in specialty food shops throughout the region, either individually or in gift sets of three.
The Sainte-Marcelline-de-Kildare boutique may be closed at certain times of the year, but you can also order jams and mustards online before your arrival so they are ready to enjoy during your cottage stay.
Among my favourites:
- Pear, vanilla, and grapefruit jam, perfect for breakfast
- Charentais melon, orange, and cardamom cheese jam, delicious at happy hour with some of the region’s excellent cheeses, including those from Du Champs à la Meule and La Suisse Normande
- Garlic flower mustard, which can elevate just about any sandwich or burger
La Terre des Bisons
This is the perfect place to stock up on delicious bison terrines while also enjoying a snowshoe outing on their private trail, complete with views of the magnificent bison.
It is a truly memorable experience.
Among my favourite products are the bison terrines and tourtières. There is even a “tourtière du lac au bison” version.
There are small fees for visits or trail access, but it is well worth the trip, if only for the legendary kindness of the owners and the opportunity to observe these majestic animals.
Ferme Vallée Verte
If you are looking for exceptional cream and yogurt, look no further. You will find them right here in Saint-Jean-de-Matha.
Their yogurt is made from the milk of happy cows—and you can taste the difference.
My personal favourites include the haskap, blueberry, and maple sugar flavours. The St-Père 35% cream is also a must-try.
