The cottage grounds lead directly to Lac Aylmer, formerly known as Maskikogamac, meaning “lake of hay” in Abenaki. Its shoreline, bordered by tall grasses, creates a natural and wild setting that is perfect for stepping away from everyday life.

Enjoy the dock to admire the lake, head out on the water, or simply relax in the sun. The watercraft available on site allow you to explore the lake and surrounding scenery at your own pace.

Please note that the lake bottom near the shoreline can be muddy. The provided watercraft are therefore a great way to make the most of the lake.

Fishing, Water Activities and Year-Round Relaxation

Lac Aylmer is especially popular with fishing enthusiasts. Depending on the season, you may find several species of fish, including pike, bass, walleye, trout, and muskellunge.
